Life with HSP11: Part - 4
Living with HSP11/SPG11 can sometimes feel like a never-ending marathon. Some days, I wake up with a little more strength and energy, ready to face the world, but other days, even getting out of bed can be a challenge.
The stiffness in my legs reminds me that every step I take is a small victory. I’ve learned to appreciate the little things: the feeling of sunshine on my face, the sound of laughter, or the comfort of a warm blanket on a cold morning.
School and work can be tough. Navigating stairs or keeping up with classmates and colleagues sometimes makes me feel like I’m constantly trying to catch up. But I’ve also learned to ask for help, and I’m grateful for the people who understand and support me.
HSP11/SPG11 doesn’t just affect my body; it sometimes plays with my emotions, too. Frustration and sadness can creep in, especially on days when my legs just won’t cooperate. But I’ve discovered that talking about it — with friends, family, or even just writing in a journal — helps me release the weight I carry inside.
Despite the challenges, I’m determined not to let HSP11/SPG11 define me. It’s a part of my story, but not the whole story. I still have dreams, passions, and goals. Every time I manage to walk a little further or smile a little brighter, I remind myself that I’m stronger than this condition.
In this journey, I’ve learned that resilience is built one step at a time, and hope is the light that guides me through the darkest days.
